ESFC Game of the Weekend

Without doubt, the game of the day comes from the Senior Division as Barkingside entertain Global at home. The two sides met pre-season when the home team edged out the visitors due to a missed last-gasp penalty.

But this time, it’s going to be different as both teams appear to be at full strength and it’s business at thew top table for two!  Global head into the match unbeaten and looking more ominous each game but will be up against a Barkingside team who held a decent lead last week but were eventually unpicked by a Manor House outfit who simply refused to buckle.

“Leave it to me lads”

It’s not going to be an encounter for the feint-hearted but definitely worthy of an entry fee all of its own. Elsewhere, Auto do battle with Belfry, who could themselves take top spot with a Global defeat, so there’s much riding on this one too. Auto won’t want to let the opposition to come in and dictate, especially as they could join the pack with a victory. Short odds on either coming out of this one with the points.

"I wonder if I can squeeze the ball in from here?"

"Think I'll just lift it over the keeper....."

"Oops, think I cleared the keeper and the bar :-("

"Oh no..... Flag!!!!"

This page has been updated to include a slider of photos which features Francesco Balestrini scoring one of his hat-trick of goals on the stroke of half-time. A fine individual effort for the Senior League team.
